Getting Started

Q: How does it work?
A: Our Mobile Banking App allows you to make a Mobile Deposit by using your device to take a photo of a check you wish to deposit. We offer an overview demo on our web page.

Q: What devices are supported?
A:  Most smart phones and tablets with a camera are supported. This includes iPhone® models 3GS (or later), iPad® 3 and iPad mini™ (or later) and recent Android™ phones and tablets.

Q: How do I get started?
A:  First, you’ll need to be enrolled in our personal online banking service. Once enrolled, download our Mobile Banking App from your app store. Launch the app, log in and select “Deposits”, then follow the on-screen instructions.

Making a Deposit

Q: What types of accounts are eligible for Mobile Check Deposits?
A:  You can make a deposit into your personal checking or savings account.

Q: What types of checks can be deposited?
A:  Generally, checks that are payable to and endorsed by an account holder are allowed. Checks must be drawn on a U.S. bank and payable in U.S. dollars. There are some checks that are not allowed, such as money orders, traveler’s cheques, or foreign and third party checks. Please continue to physically deposit those items.

Q: Are there any limits?
A:  The maximum dollar amount is $5,000 per day. There’s no limit to the number of deposits you can make, provided the total dollar amount doesn’t exceed the $5,000 maximum. The app permits one check per deposit.

After the Deposit

Q: What happens after I submit the deposit?
A:  After the app verifies the deposit, it will display the results screen. The status “pending” indicates the deposit was submitted pending our review. The status “failed” indicates the deposit was not accepted. The app will explain the problem and how to correct it.

Q: When will my deposit be processed and available?
A:  We review mobile deposits at 5:00 p.m. EST on business days, which is our cut-off time.  Deposits submitted after cut-off will be included in the next review. If we accept the deposit, it will be credited to your account the day we review it. If we are unable to accept the deposit, we will notify you immediately upon our review. Mobile Check Deposits are subject to our Funds Availability Policy Disclosure, which generally provides next business day availability.

Q: What should I do with the original paper check?
A:  Upon confirming that you received credit for the deposit, retain the check for seven (7) days. Then shred the check or boldly mark “Electronically Deposited” on the front of it. Your Mobile Deposit history, including an image of the check deposited, is available to you within the app’s Deposits History screen for 45 days.
